How I mistakenly ripped by beautiful dress

 I tore my beautiful dress in the process. Let’s start from the beginning.  About two weeks ago, I was to host a grande virtual event scheduled for 8pm but was stuck in a rural area with no guarantee of constant light supply.  I thought it would be awkward not to be able to show my face as a host so I asked my colleagues for assistance but unfortunately, they too were not sure of their availability. It was at that point, I turned to Jehovah Imole (that’s the God of NEPA) 😀 I begged him for a miracle.  “Abeg, I know there’s no hope of having light today again but help me make NEPA bring light make I fit on my video during the meeting.” That was at 7:20pm. I kept staring at my time as I waited in my night dress. 7:30pm Nothing! 7:45pm… nothing! I started grumbling in utter frustration and asked my technical assistant to open the meeting platform for people to join in. That day, many years ago, I sat on the passenger’s side of my aunt’s car and tilted the mirror so as to see my fine face. It’d had been a hectic day and I needed to be sure that I was still maintaining beauty.   Satisfied with what I saw reflected back at me in the mirror, I proceeded to fiddle with my phone as I waited for my aunty to finish her “service-after-service” meetings in the church hall.   Not long afterwards, she was back in the car and started it. As she tried to pull out of the car park, she noticed it.   Grumbling and irritated, she yelled, “These children have tampered with my side mirror again. How many times would I warn them not to…”   The anger in her voice made me sit quietly, frozen to my seat. I was not sure all those anger oozing out of the older woman was befitting for just a mere tilt of a side mirror.   Moreover, it was just a mirror to the side of the car, right? Placed there for beautification.  ...
